Beer and Grandma

I grew up seeing my Grandma drink San Miguel beer like water everyday for decades, and never gets drunk. Each time I visit grandma in my family’s home town, there were regular deliveries from San Miguel  company to the ancestral house.
And she was never seriously sick, and my grandfathers and some of my uncles and aunties have died and our clans beloved “mayordoma (nanny)” , who is a lot younger than grandma died.
Until she reached 90 years old.
And  early this year, doctors advised her to stop drinking beer.
Since then, she’s been seriously ill.

Was it the beer that made her live longer?
